ABSTRACT

The novel coronavirus severe acute respiratory syndrome Corona Virus-2 (SARS-CoV--2) has become a pandemic, as declared by WHO in March 2020 producing deleterious effects on patients worldwide. The angiotensin-converting enzyme-2 (ACE-2) has been recognized as the co-receptor for SARS-CoV-2 infections and may act as a therapeutic step in blocking the enzyme to re-duce SARS-CoV-2 expression and further cellular entry. Presently, the role of ACE-2 in coron-avirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection has been known and the experts have started working on the enzyme ACE-2 for the management and treatment of this pandemic disease. The binding of spike (S) protein of SARS-CoV-2 to these receptors is the most important step and plays a key role in viral replication, thus this enzyme is becoming the doorway for the entry and spread in the human body causing asymptomatic pneumonia and severe of which is leading to death. As no specific method to prevent and treat this disease is available, the use of ACE-2 as a targeting ligand with COVID-19 virus spike protein could be helpful in the proper management of SARS-CoV-2 pneu-monia.Copyright © 2021 Bentham Science Publishers.

ABSTRACT

The main objective of this study is to recognize the limitations of available data, its usefulness to regulate pollution sources across National Capital Region (NCR) and create winter profiles of every region. Within a network of each air quality monitoring station in Delhi-NCR winters [2019 December-2020 January (Pre-Covid), and 2020 December-2021 January (Post-Covid)], daily-averaged PM10 and PM2.5, NOx, O-3, SO2, CO and NH3 levels were found to be very consistent across Delhi and the NCR. The bivariate polar plots revealed that local sources dominate PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations across all monitoring locations in Delhi-NCR. The importance of the local source's superiority aids in the measurement of concentrations. We examined the various pollutants found during the winter season across Delhi-NCR for 2019-2020-2021. Plotting bivariate polar plots can reveal the relationship between air contaminants and meteorological conditions. This technique identified the concentration level and also helps in prediction. The preliminary results also suggested that the air pollutants considerably reduced in post-covid period as compared to the pre-covid period due to the restriction of traffic and commercial activities.

ABSTRACT

More than one year of pandemic (COVID-19) and everything around is disrupted, be it human lives, communities, and businesses all over the world everybody is finding ways and making efforts to integrate in current scenario. The government or private sectors in country everybody is trying all the possible efforts proactively to support the nation and to save lives, and in this situation, CSR has become an integral platform for corporates, government, and NGOs to come in front and take collaborative actions for the welfare of the society. The study is based on the belief that corporate social responsibility is related to the societal concept of the business which states to look beyond the profits. CSR activities performed by the businesses are not confined only to the philanthropic philosophy but beyond that. CSR activities can be integrated in every business function such as while making production of goods companies can follow the production process which can cause less harm to the environment, or they can make eco-friendly products for the safety and health of the customers. By adopting green advertising and Waste disposal policy companies will cause less harm to the customers and become more environment friendly. Employees can be provided better working environment to make employees happier and more satisfied. Thus, even during pandemic situation there are numerous ways to do that. It completely depends upon the company, its resources and its willingness to behave in a socially responsible manner. Ultimately, the social development will get improved by the CSR activities of the companies and the economy will grow, and this why CSR is need of this hour. © RIGEO ● Review of International Geographical Education

ABSTRACT

An organization's reputation is largely dependent on the work culture it provides to its employees. This is the reason, "flexibility" is becoming an inherent part of an employer's support to its employees. Due to the unprecedented outbreak of novel corona virus (COVID-19), most companies have adopted flexibility of working from anywhere, for their employees. This digital transformation took place almost instantaneously. Hence, neither the employees, nor the employers were fully prepared for this situation. This definitely makes our lives convenient. But there exists another side of the coin which is concerned with the security issues pertaining to use of personal networks and devices. The home network devices have not been configured to be secure in line with the employer's requirements. That is the reason, attackers have a larger surface to get their hands dirty on. This paper exhaustively describes the holistic view of security issues and challenges faced by employees as well as employers in remote working paradigm. This paper emphasizes on the cybersecurity threats which have emerged in this pandemic era. The work presents the challenges faced by the employees as well as their employers in these tough times. Then this paper discusses the sudden rise in volumes of cyber-attacks between January 2020 to March 2020. The company's evaluation of critical threats in the on-site working paradigm versus the remote working paradigm have also been described. Next, it describes the risks which might occur in the near future of the COVID-19 impacted world. Finally, the paper proposes some of the ways in which employers can strike an efficient balance between flexibility for employees and security of their assets.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The coronavirus disease, nCOV-19 pandemic is exceptional and unprecedented in many aspects and it has shaken the health care system at global level. The several studies reported on nCOV-19 suggest that, immunization is the only way to fight against it. For this, Ayurveda is the most imperative as it recommends a healthy lifestyle instead of the mere prescription of medicines. Methodology: Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy is purposed with developing education, research and propagation of indigenous alternative medicine systems in India (Ministry of AYUSH). The Ministry is headed by a Minister of State, which is currently held by Shripad Yesso Naik and has recommended some measures to be followed in building strength by following the holistic approach of Ayurveda toward Swasthavritta. Thus, the present paper focuses on analysing the public perception towards Ayurveda measures using the most popular statistical techniques as ANOVA. Results: The analysis of data indicated that, the people are mesmerised by the concept of Ayurveda and are following all the possible precautions to save themselves from the effect of COVID-19. Older generation has a firm believe on the vedic science as compared to the younger generation. Conclusion: The classic of Ayurveda 'Charaka Samhita' describes the epidemic management and it defines immunity as the most essential to prevent diseases and arrest its progress. The foundation of Ayurveda is to building strength of mind and body to manage with different stressors, including infections. The Ayurveda concept of immunity (Bala or strength) is categorized as natural (Sahaja), chronobiologic (Kalaja), and acquired (Yuktikrut). Henceforth, we can achieve the aim of Ayurveda i.e. the Swasthasya Swasthya Rakshanam and Aturasya Vikar Prashamanam, against nCOV-19 pandemic.
